Kurt W. Dougherty, O.D.
Dr. Dougherty has been practicing Optometry since 1984 when he graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry. He is a native Indiana resident and has been living in the Fort Wayne area since his graduation. Besides his private practice experience, Dr. Dougherty has been affiliated with Ophthalmic surgeons for the last twenty years in order to expand his expertise in patient care. His practice interests include eye care for all ages and medical needs.
As an additional interest in vision care services, Dr. Dougherty and his family have raised five dogs for the Leader Dog for the Blind program support by the Lion's Club. Their last dog "Tater", completed his training in February at the Leader Dog school.
Dr. Dougherty has many interests including following his son, Klint's, sporting interests of basketball, golf, and soccer . He is currently completing his training for a private pilots certificate and races radio controled fast electric boats. His wife, Jill, is an elementary music instructor and also an Indiana University graduate. His daughter, Aubrey, is a student at Indiana University earning a degree in liberal arts and buisiness management. Ashley, his oldest daughter is finishing her degrees from Ball State University in Elementary Education and special education with an emphasis on the hearing impaired.
